Example:
4/10, means you divide a whole into 10 equal parts and out of the 10 equal parts you take 4 of them.
percentage gives the value of how many equal parts you get, when you divide the whole into 100 equal parts.
In simple words
if you get 4 out of 10,
then how much you will get out of 100, if you consider this value as x then,
4 out of 10 = x out of 100
4 over 10 equals straight x over 100
fraction numerator begin display style 4 end style over denominator begin display style 10 end style end fraction cross times 100 equals straight x
