Median of a triangle divides the triangle into two triangles of equal areas.

AD is the median of triangle ABC.

Then, area of triangle ABD = area of triangle ACD     ....(i)

Also PD is the median of triangle PBC.

Then, area of triangle PBD = area of triangle PCD    ....(ii)

Subtracting (ii) from (i),

area of triangle ABD - area of triangle PBD = area of triangle ACD - area of triangle PCD

area of triangle ABP = area of triangle ACP
