Figure shows ΔABC , AB = 8.4 cm ,  AC = 7.4 cm and BC = 7 cm .

X and Y are mid points .

In a triangle, if mid points are connected by a line , then this line is parallel to third side and

length of this line is half of third side.

Hence XY = (1/2) BC = 3.5 cm

Perimeter of trapezium = XY+YC+CB+BX = ( 3.5+3.7+7.0+4.2) cm = 18.4 cm
