In crystal structure of Ferrites, there are ferrous (Fe2+) ions and ferrite (Fe3+) ions present in the form of ferrous-ferric molecule. In a ferrous-ferrite molecule there are one ferrous ion and two ferric ion. When Fe atom is ionized to form Fe2+ ion, there are 4 unpaired 3d electrons left. When Fe atom is ionized to from Fe3+ ions, there are 5 unpaired 3d electrons left. Since each unpaired 3d electron has a magnetic moment of 1 μB, the Fe2+ ion has magnetic moment of 4 μB and Fe3+ ion has magnetic moment of 5 μB. This shown in the following table.

If parallel alighnments of ferrous and ferric ions are considered, total dipole moment = 4+(2×5) = 14 μB. This theoretical value does not coincide with experiemntal value.

Let us consider anti parallel alignment of ferrous and ferric ions.
If one ferrous and ferric ion are in one direction and another ferric ion is in opposite directin
then the dipole moment is (5+4)-5 = 4 μB. This theoretical value is in good agreement with experimental value.
This confirms anti parallel alignment of dipoles in ferrites
