Act?

Expert Answer
The Indian reaction to the draconian Rowlatt Act was extremely negative. Because there was so much anger and discontent among the Indians against this law, the British resorted to outright repressive measures in order to stem the increasing tide of nationalism and anti-government feeling. At this juncture, Gandhiji appealed to Indians to observe 6 April 1919 as Satyagraha Day and as a sign of protest against the Act.
