the transmission of signals using ground waves are restricted upto a frequency of about 1500kHz. Why?

In ground wave propagation, the energy of the signal is absorbed by the earth. The loss of energy increases with the increase in the frequency of the signal. Therefore, transmission of signals using ground wave is restricted to frequencies upto 1500 kHz as higher frequencies are damped by interaction with matter.
