answered-by-expert Expert Answer
5G, short for "fifth generation," is the latest generation of wireless technology for cellular networks, succeeding 4G (LTE).
It represents a significant leap in terms of speed, capacity, and connectivity compared to its predecessors.
5G technology is designed to support a wide range of applications and services, including faster internet browsing, low-latency communication, and support for emerging technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and autonomous vehicles.

5G operates on a wider range of frequency bands compared to previous generations. It includes both lower-frequency bands (sub-6 GHz) and higher-frequency bands (millimeter-wave or mmWave). The use of higher-frequency bands allows for greater data capacity and faster speeds but requires more infrastructure due to shorter transmission distances.
