Frequency modulation is a type of modulation in which the frequency of the carrier wave is changed in accordance with the amplitude of the modulating wave. For this the modulating wave is superimposed on a high frequency carrier wave in such a way that the amplitude of the modulated wave is same as that of the carrier wave but its frequency gets modified.
