CBSE Class 12-science Answered

The electric field E due to a point charge at any point near it is defined as begin mathsize 11px style limit as straight q rightwards arrow 0 of space straight F over straight q end style, where q is the test charge and F is the force acting on it.What is the physical significance of Syntax error from line 1 column 91 to line 1 column 132. Unexpected 'mathvariant'.in this expression?Draw the electric filed lines of a point charge Q when (i) Q > 0 and (ii)Q < 0. Or Define electric flux. Write its S.I. Units. A spherical rubber balloon carries a charge that is uniformity distributed over its surface. As the balloon is blown up and increases in size, how does the total electric flux coming out of the surface change?Give reason.

TheSyntax error from line 1 column 91 to line 1 column 132. Unexpected 'mathvariant'. indicates that the test charge q is so small that its presence does not disturb the distribution of source charge and hence its electric field.

The electric fields of the point charge Q are shown below.

Or

The electric flux through a given surface area is the total number of electric lines of force passing normally through that area.It is given by.

ΦE = begin mathsize 11px style stack straight E space with rightwards arrow on top times stack increment straight S with rightwards arrow on top end style

SI unit of electric flux is Nm²-C-1

As the balloon is blown up, the total charge on the balloon surface remains unchanged, so the total electric flux coming out of its surface remains unchanged.
