Let us consider , in the quadrilateral ABCD shown in figure, 
A and B are supllementary, i.e. A + B = 180°.
A and B are supllementary, i.e. A + B = 180°.A and B are interior angles when line segment AB intercepting two line segments AD and BC. Since sum of interior angles is 180°, side BC is parallel to side AD. Hence quadrilateral ABCD is a trapezeium.
Hence it is proved that in a quadrilateral, two adjacent angles are supplementary, then this quadrilateral is trapezeium.
