Ammonia has a central Nitrogen atom which is attached to 3 H with sp3 hybridization as for bonding it uses 3 electrons out of 5 valence electrons hence the remaining non-bonding pair of electron is referred as a lone pair of electron.
Whereas in case of Methane the central atom Carbon which is attached to 4 hydrogen atoms, and has 4 valence electrons all 4 electrons take part in the sp3 hybridization hence it does not show any lone pair of electron.
