Collinear vectors means direction of vectors is either same or 180° opposite direction.

if vectors are in same direction, then the sum of vectors has magnitude equal to the sum of magnituded of individual vectors.
Direction of resultant vector is same as that of constituent vectors.

If vectors are collinear but 180° opposite direction, then the sum of vectors has magnitude equal
to the difference of magnitude of individual vectors.
Direction of resultant vector is the direction of constituent vector that has greater magnitude.
