Kindly clear the idea on Question No. 2(e) of Sample Paper-I, Gold Series, ICSE Class-X Physics.

A light containing red, blue and yellow rays is oncident on a glass slab and a prism.
To draw the refracted and emergent rays we should use the fact that, when light enters from a rarer to denser medium, it bends towards the normal and when light enters from a denser to a rarer medium, it bends away from the normal.
We should also use a fact that red light having maximum wavelength bends the least and violet light having least wavelength bends the most.
Using the above two facts, the light entering the glass slab and a prism gets refracted at the air-glass interface into three different rays of Red, Yellow and Blue colour. These refracted rays refract from the glass-air interface and come out of the glass block or prism as shown in the figure above.
