In the uploaded image, what is the potential differnce between the points x and y? Does current flow through the 4 V battery in the middle, if not, can we remove it or will it bring change in the potential difference between x and y? Must the current flow for potential difference?

First part of question is, does any current flow through 4V battery connected at middle?
Thiis first part is already answered to same user ( Refer URL 4356750 ).
Since there is no current flow through the middle 4 V battery , left side circuit and right side circuit
are isolated from each other. Left side circuit includes the ground point and
potential at any point in left side circuit is measured with respect to this ground point.
whereas there is no ground point for right side circuit.
Point x is in left side circuit with ground point and point y is in right side circuit without any ground point.
Hence Potential difference between x and y can not be measured.
