we have lens makers formula for thick lens as,  1/f = (n-1)[ (1/R1) - (1/R2) + (n-1)t/(nR1R2) ]

where f is focal length, n is refractive index, t is thicknss, R1 and R2 are radii of curvature.

if R1 = -R2 = R, then above relation will become,  1/f = (n-1)[ (2/R) - (n-1)t / (nR2) ]

Let 1/R = α , then above equation can be written in the form,  Aα2 -Bα + C = 0 ...................(1)

where A = (n-1)t/n  ,  B = 2  and C = 1/[ f (n-1) ]

By substituting the values , qudratic eqn.(1) can be solved to get α = 1/R

( when i substituted the given values, roots of eqn.(1) are coming imaginary. Hence I suspect some thing wrong in the given data.

if all the dimensions are cm, then thickness 23.2 cm is unrealistic data )
