there are different types of drainage patterns in topography. they are: dendritic, trellised, radial and there is also disappearing stream.
when you find the drainage is branching to form smaller branches(like the dendrites and dendrons in the nervous system in the subject biology) then it is called dendritic drainage pattern.
when you find that the drainage is arising from a countour, then it is called radial drainage pattern.
when you find that the drainage is joining a small stream, then it is called trellized drainage pattern.
disappearing stream is nothing but a stream which moves a short distance and disappears,i.e., the black line which indicates the stream moves solid for a short distance and slowly the solid line becomes black dots
