(a) Incineration is considered the best method for disposing of clinical waste. Incineration destroys contaminants and lowers the waste volume dramatically. 

The most practical and eco-friendly way to dispose of PVC is through recycling. Recycling can be done through sorting by hand or using machines. The most recommended way to recycle PVC is mechanical recycling, which can be done directly in the production plant where the waste is generated.

(b) The following measures can be taken by individuals to reduce waste:

• Always remember to carry a cloth shopping bag.
• Instead of tissues, and wet wipes – use a handkerchief which can be washed and reused.
• Segregate your waste at source.
• Try menstrual cups or reusable cloth pads instead of sanitary pads. 
• Try to avoid/reduce the use of diapers. Use a washable cloth.
