How many points can be selected in a sphere in the same plane?

Expert Answer
If a sphere is cut by a plane, the cross section is a circle.
Thus, number of points selected in a sphere in the same plane is equal to the number of points selected to form a circle.
Since we need three unique points to form a circle, the number of points selected in a sphere in the same plane is three.
