Find equivalent resistance.

Expert Answer
When equivalent resistance of a given network is required, two terminals should be provided so that equivalent resistance is
determined across those terminals.
In the given network there are two possibilities to have the two terminals .
As shown by left side fig. 1, equivalent resistance is determined across A and B.
In the right side figure, terminals C and D are considered at different points and equivalent resistance is determined.
In left side figure, given network as shown in fig.1.(a) is simplified in fig.1(b) and finally fig.1(c) gives the equivalent resistance.
Similarly, in right side figure, given in network shown in fig.2(a) is simplified step by step
and the last fig.2(e) shows the equivalent resistance
