Twenty Indian Institutes in BRICS 2014

According to the QS University Rankings 2014 for the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), twenty Indian Institutes, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), are among the best in the world.

IIT Bombay          15^th  Rank

IIT Kanpur            16^th  Rank

IIT Madras            17^th  Rank

IIT Kharagpur        20^th Rank

Also, about 200 top universities from the BRICS nations were compared. Six universities from China, two institutes from Brazil and one from each Russia and South Africa managed to make it to the top 10 list.

A copy of the QS University Rankings 2014 for the BRICS countries was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani on 17 June.
