CBSE simplifies the pattern for 2017 Class 12 Maths Exam

The Maths paper for CBSE 2016 Class 12 exams received harsh criticism and complaints by baffled students. In an online petition, it was said that “questions were twisted, required time to think and solve, hence many students could not complete the paper.”

To avoid this situation and reduce the anxiety of students who will appear for Class 12 Board exams in 2017, the CBSE has declared the following: The Class 12 Math paper will be framed in a manner wherein it will have 80% easy and average difficulty level questions while only 20% of the questions will be hard. The new pattern will have 2 mark questions of total of 16 marks. Some questions under the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) category will also be asked in the paper. Questions with a total of 10 marks will be asked from HOTS alone. 20 marks in total will be allotted for Very Short Answers (VSA) and Short Answers (SA).
