CBSE Class 12 Results 2023 Live Pass Percentage Dips to 87.33%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the 2023 board results for Class 12 on 12th May. Students can check their results on the official website, use IVRS or SMS to view their marks, or download the UMANG or DigiLocker apps to view their scorecards.

Over 16.60 lakh students sat for the CBSE Class 12 board exams, of which 14,50,174 have passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 87.33%. The exams were conducted from 15th February to 5th April. This year's board exam was held only once, unlike last year, where the exams were held in two terms. Last year's pass percentage was 92.71%; thus, this year, the number of passing students has seen a small decline.

CBSE has declared that board exams for classes 10 and 12 will start on 15th February.

Key Highlights of CBSE Class 12 Results

Here are the main highlights of the CBSE Class 12 result declaration.

●       This year's overall pass percentage is 87.33%, with over 14.50 lakh students passing the exam.

●       CBSE has announced no merit list will be declared this year to avoid unhealthy competition.

●       Merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of students with the highest marks in different subjects.

●       Over 1.12 lakh students scored above 90%, and 22,622 students scored 95% and up.

●       Girls have secured a higher pass percentage at 90.68% than boys, who recorded an 84.67% overall pass percentage.

●       Over 1.25 lakh students were placed in Compartment this year.

●       Thiruvananthapuram has recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.9%, followed by Bengaluru and Chennai. Prayagraj records the lowest pass percentage out of all 16 regions at 78%.

Where Can I Check the Class 12 2023 Board Results?

Students who appeared for the exams can check and download their results from the official website - CBSE Results.

Like in previous years, they can also request their scores via IVRS or SMS.

Students can also access their scorecards this year on the UMANG and DigiLocker app and website.

How to Download the Result from Official Websites?

Students can follow these steps to obtain their scorecards for the official websites.

Step 1: Open the official website.

Step 2: Click on the link for results given on the website.

Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID.            

Step 4: Click ‘submit’.

Step 5: Your result should be visible on the screen now. Check all scores and download the mark sheet for future reference.

How to Check Results on DigiLocker?

Students can check their scores on DigiLocker using the following steps.

Step 1: Open the DigiLocker app or website.

Step 2: Sign into your account or create a new account.

Step 3: Click the CBSE result link given on the home page.

Step 4: Input the details as asked and check the scores.

How to Calculate the Overall Percentage?

Students can easily calculate their percentage by adding the marks of the main or best five subjects and dividing the total by 5.

Percentage = total marks received in main 5 subjects / 5
