CBSE Class 10 Maths Exam Analysis 2019

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Mathematics Theory Paper for students of Class 10 today, 7th March 2019, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The board paper consisted of 30 questions for 80 marks. There was no overall choice. However, an internal choice was provided for two questions of 1 mark each, two questions of 2 marks each, four questions of 3 marks each and 3 questions of 4 marks each. The questions having internal choice were from the same chapter, so students had to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.

The structure of the CBSE Class 10 Mathematics board question paper was as shown below.

Overall Review

The chapters ‘Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables’, ‘Statistics’ and ‘Trigonometry’ had the highest marks and the number of questions asked, which was followed by ‘Circles’, ‘Surface Area and Volume’ and ‘Coordinate Geometry’. ‘Quadratic Equations’ had the least weightage of marks in the paper, followed by ‘Polynomials’. The apt solutions in TopperLearning Sample Papers and the detailed answers in TopperLearning MIQs would have made solving the questions from these chapters seem like a breeze.

In conclusion, the CBSE Class 10 Maths 2019 paper was an easy and scoring paper. Students who went through the NCERT textbook exercises and practised solving the textbook questions wouldn’t have found this paper tough.
