ShareThe Central Board of Secondary Education has commenced the class 10 CBSE board exams 2024 on February 15, 2024, and the last exam will be conducted on March 13, 2024. The datesheet of the class 10 CBSE 2024 board exam was released by the board on December 12, 2023, and revised on January 5, 2024. The Central Board of Secondary Education is conducting its CBSE class 10 board exams in pen and paper format.
The practical exams of CBSE class 10 were conducted between January 1 to February 14, 2024. While the practical holds 20 marks, the theoretical paper holds a total of 80 marks. In order to pass the class 10 board exams, each student must score a minimum of 33 marks in every subject.
As per the date sheet released by the board for the CBSE class, 10 board exams, the Hindi-A and Hindi-B papers were conducted on February 21, 2024.
Question Paper Structure
The CBSE class 10 Hindi course B exam 2024 comes along with the Hindi course A exam for class 10 students as the second language subject. The Hindi course A is entirely focused on literature. However, the Hindi B course basically focuses on the Hindi communication part.
The Hindi course A paper with a total weightage of 80 marks is divided into two sections, A and B:
- The A section of the Hindi A course paper is 40 marks, consisting of 10 multiple choice questions with 44 sub-questions, out of which the students must attempt any 40.
- In the B section of the Hindi course A paper, a total of 7 descriptive questions are asked, followed by internal choice for a total of 40 marks.
The Hindi Course B question paper of the CBSE class 10 board exams is also divided into two sections, A and B:
- Section A includes 44 sub-questions, all of which are multiple choice type questions, and the students have to solve 40 questions out of them.
- Furthermore, section B holds a total of 10 questions with descriptive answer types. It is necessary for the students to take all the questions. However, they are provided with internal choices for all of these questions.
The time provided to complete this paper is 3 hours.

Chapter-Wise Distribution of Marks
The Hindi course A paper focused on literature and advanced language skills. This section included poetry, drama, and prose prescribed by NCERT. Major emphasis was given on creative writing, interpretation, and critical analysis of the students.
In the Hindi course B paper, the focus was on basic communication and language skills. The paper included questions on conversation, unseen passages, writing basics, and functional grammar. The students' basic writing skills, application of grammar rules, and comprehension skills were the major elements of the assessment.

According to the students who appeared for the CBSE class in the Hindi board exam 2024:
- They did not face any difficulty in regards to the format and question type, and the paper was good.
- None of the questions in the paper were related to the deleted topics or chapters.
- The major challenge of the Hindi CBSE class 10 board exam was to complete the paper within the time limit provided.
- The Course B of the Hindi paper was lengthy and took ample time for the students to complete the descriptive answers.
