Why dielectric constant of an insulator is>1?
Dielectric constant is the ratio of electric field E_o through the region without the presence of the dielectrcic and electric field E in the presence of dielectric.
E_o/E = K , Dielectric constant
since E_o is always greter than E, K alwys comes out to be >1
