Why carbonic acids doesnot reacts with metals?

It has long been recognized that it is impossible to obtain pure carbonic acid at room temperatures (about 20 °C or about 70 °F).and dissociates quickly.
H2CO3 ⇌CO2 + H2O.
Thus it does not react with metals.
