Allotropes are basically the different molecular configurations that pure carbon can take.

Carbon do have more than three allotropes. List of all allotropes of carbon- diamond, graphite, amorphous carbon, fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, aggregated diamond nanorods, glassy carbon, lonsdaleite, chaoite.
