a. is not observed when zinc granules are added to dilute sulphuric acid in a a test tube.
When Zn is reacted with dilute sulphuric acid, zinc chloride is formed and hydrogen gas is leberated. This reaction is exothermic and hence heat is evolved in the reaction.
