Dividing x3 - 2x2 - 3x - 4 by x2 - x, we get the quotient = x - 1 and remainder = -4x - 4
Therefore, x3 - 2x2 - 3x - 4 = (x2 - x)(x - 1) + (-4x - 4)
Thus, (4x + 4) must be added to the polynomial x3 - 2x2 - 3x - 4 so as it is completely divisible by x2 - x.
