Expert Answer:
An object whichis in flight after being thrown or projected is called a projectile
When a particle is thrown obliquely near the Earth’s surface it moves in a parabolic path, provided the particle remains the close to the surface of earth and the air resistance is negligible. This is an example of projectile motion.
