Resistivity is property of electrically conducting material.
Resistivity of the material of given conductor is defined as the resistance of that conductor of unit length and of unit crosssection area
if R is resistance of conductor, ρ is resistivity of material, L is length of conductor and A is area of conductor, then we have
R = ρ×L/A or ρ = R×A/L
unit of resistivity is ohm × m
