what is parallelogram's law of addition

Parallelogram law of addition is used in addition of vectors. It says that if you consider two adjacent sides of the parallelogram as the vectors that you want to add, then the value of the addition is given by the diagonal of the parallelogram, that is formed by taking the two adjacent sides. Note that the diagonal orginating from the point of intersection of those two vectors needs to be taken. For solving addition problems, first draw the two given vectors, then complete the parallelogram by drawing lines parallel to these given vectors and then choose the correct diagnoal as described above.
