Magnitude is a quantitative aspect. It refers to the the amount of something.
Usually a vector quantity has both magnitude and direction.Where magnitude gives the quantity or amount.eg: For the statement -the pen is displaced by 5 cm towards left. The value 5 cm indicates the magnitude and left indicates the direction.
Here 5 cm.
Quantity with only magnitude is called scalar and quantity with both magnitude and direction is called a vector quantity.
