What is an elastic and inelastic collision?

Elastic Collision- A collision between two bodies in which both the linear momentum and kinetic energy of the system (colliding bodies) remains conserved is called an elastic collision.
Inelastic Collision- A collision between two bodies in which linear momentum of the system remains conserved but the kinetic energy is not conserved, is called an inelastic collision.
