Using heron's formula.find the area of an isosceles triangle whose perimeter is 16cm And base is 6cm ..       Ans - 12cm

if the perimeter of isoceless triangle is 16 cm and base of the triangle is 6 cm, then equal sides are (16-6) / 2 = 5 cm .
 
Hence sides are 5 cm, 5 cm and 6 cm.
 
Area = begin mathsize 12px style square root of s open parentheses s minus a close parentheses open parentheses s minus b close parentheses open parentheses s minus c close parentheses end root space equals space square root of 8 cross times 2 cross times 3 cross times 3 end root space equals space 12 space s q. space c m end style
where s is semi-perimeter, s = (a+b+c)/2 .  sides of triangle are a, b and c.
