Mass of floating object = mass of displaced water = immersed volume × density of water

Let ρA is density of solid-A  and VA is its volume.

density ρA = mass / volume = [ (1/4) VA  × ρW ] / VA  = (1/4) ρW

where ρW is density of water

Let ρB is density of solid-B  and VB is its volume.

density ρB = mass / volume = [ (3/5) VB  × ρW ] / VA  = (3/5) ρW

Ratio of densities ,  ρA  :   ρB  = (1/4) ρW  : (3/5) ρW =  5 : 12
