speed keep on increasing with respect to time. Hence this is accelerated motion.
acceleration a = Δv / Δt
where Δv is change in speed in a time duration Δt
we see from given data, speed increases by 5 m/s for every 10 s .
Hence acceleration a = 5/10 = 0.5 m/s2
distance travelled S in time duration t is given as
S = u t + (1/2) a t2
where u is initial speed at t=0
distance travelled in 50 s = 5×50 + (1/2)×0.5 × 502 = 875 m

Graphical method

Graph of speed Vs. time is shown above . Distance travelled equals area under the graph of speed Vs. time.
In the plotted grpah, distance travelled in 50 s is obtained from the area of trapezium OABC
Area of trapezium OABC = (1/2) × OC × [ OA + BC ] = (1/2) × 50 × [ 5 + 30 ] = 875 m
Hence distance travelled in 50 s = 875 m
