The sum of two numbers is 90 and the greater number exceeds twice the smaller by 15.find the number.

Let the numbers are x and (90-x) and x > (90-x)
x+15 = 2(90-x) = 180 -2x ..................(1)
By solving eqn.(1) for x, we get x = 55. Hence numbers are 55 and 35
