The image of a candle flame placed at a distance of 30 cm from a spherical lens is formed on a screen placed at a distance of 60 cm from the lens. If the height of the flame is 2.4 cm,find the height of its image

Magnification of image M = -v/u
 
where v is mirror-to-image distance and u is mirror-to object distance
 
Hence magnification M = - 60/30= -2
 
Hence image is magnified by a factor 2 . Image size is  ( 2 × 2.4 cm ) = 4.8 cm  and image is inverted
