Division method :-

Let us divide 867 by 255 :-     867/255 ,    we get quotient 3 so that   255 × 3 = 765  and 765 is subtracted from 867 to get remainder 102

Now divide 765 by 102 :-   765/102 ,  we get quotient 7 so that   102 × 7 = 714  and 714 is subtracted from 765 to get remainder 51 .

Now divide 714 by 51 :-  704/51 , we get quotient 14 so that   51 × 14 = 714  and 714 is subtracted from 714 to get remainder 0

Hence the last divisior 51 is HCF
