The magnification of mirror is 2.
Thus, 
 
m = -(v/u) = - 2 ...( negative sign because image formed is inverted) 
Thus, 
v  = 2u 
 
The distance between the object and image is 12 cm.
Thus,
u - v = 12 cm 
Subtstituting,
 
u - 2u = 12 cm 
Thus, u = -12 cm 
and v = -24 cm 
 
Now using the mirror formula,
 
1 over f equals space 1 over v plus 1 over u

1 over f equals fraction numerator 1 over denominator negative 24 end fraction plus fraction numerator 1 over denominator negative 12 end fraction

S o l v i n g space t h i s space w e space g e t comma space
space f space equals space 8 space c m space
 
Thus, focal length of mirror is 8 cm.
