Given that,
 
Angular width of fringes in air, θair =  0.20°
Wavelength in air, λair = 5890 Å
Refractive index of water = 4/3
Now,
Angular width of fringes, θ = λ/d
Here, d is distance between the slits.
i.e., θ ∝ λ

therefore space theta subscript w equals space theta subscript a i r end subscript cross times mu subscript a i r end subscript over mu subscript w equals 0.20 cross times fraction numerator 1 over denominator 4 divided by 3 end fraction equals 0.15 to the power of ring operator space
