Path difference, Δx= dy/D
y = d/2
Hence,
Δx = d(d/2)/D = d2/2D ... (1)
Also,
nλ = dy/D = Δx ...(2)
Thus,
λ = d2/2nD ... (3) ...(from (1) and (2))
where, n = 1,2,3 ...
Thus substituting values of n in (3), we get,
λ = d2/2D, d2/4D, d2/6D ...
Thus, possible wavelengths used in experiment is d2/2D, d2/4D, d2/6D ...
