A body moves 3 m towards north, 4 m towards east and finally 5 m vertically upwards. The resultant displacement of the particle will be
5 m
12 m
10 m
5√2 m
Solution:
We can represent the given displacement vectors with unit vectors running north, east, and up.
Let's call these unit vectors i, j, and k.
i.e.,d = 3i + 4j + 5k.
Now, the magnitude of displacement will be
|d|= √(3² + 4² + 5²) = √50
= 5√2
Hence, 4 is correct among the following.
