Let us consider the two given vectors and are sides of parallelogram OPRQ so that diagonal OR is ( + ) as shown in figure .
Let us form another parallelogram OP'R'Q' so that and ( - ) are sides of parallelogram OP'R'Q' .
Hence diagonal OR' represents ( - ) as shown in figure .
It is to be noted here both the parallelograms are congruent.
If we are given that | + | = | - | , then Bothe diagonals af parallelogram are equal.
In a parallelogram, if diagonals are equal then this parallelogram is Rectangle .
Hence angle between and is 90o
