Median of triangle is equal to √3/2a then how half of median is a/√3

Let a be side of equilateral triangle .
Half meridian is not ( a / √3 ) . All meridians intersect at a point G that is known as centroid of triangle .
Segment of meridian from centroid G to mid point of opposite side is ( a / √3 ) .
In figure , GD = GE = GF = ( a / √3 )
Centroid G divides the meridians in the ratio 2 : 1
For example , AG : GD = 2 : 1
Hence , it can be calculated that , if AD = (√3 /2 ) a , then GD = (2/3) (√3 /2 ) a = ( a / √3 )
similarly for GE and GF
