Similarly sift due to film placed in front of B
Y subscript B equals D over d open square brackets t subscript B open parentheses mu subscript B minus 1 close parentheses close square brackets Y subscript B equals D over d open square brackets t subscript B mu subscript B minus t subscript B close square brackets
As given in the question
 
t subscript A mu subscript A equals t subscript B mu subscript B
Therefore we can say that
 
if
t subscript A greater than t subscript B
thenY subscript A less than Y subscript B and hence pattern shifts towards B
whereas if
 t subscript B greater than t subscript A  
then Y subscript B less than Y subscript A and pattern shifted towards A
