We know,

R space equals space square root of P squared space plus space Q squared space plus space 2 P Q cos theta end root space .... (*)
Initially consider two forces, √3 N and √3 N. The angle between the two forces is 60°
we get,
R equals space square root of 3 space plus space 3 space plus space 2 cross times square root of 3 cross times square root of 3 cross times cos space 60 degree end root space
therefore space R space equals space square root of 3 space plus space 3 space plus space 2 space cross times 3 cross times 1 half end root space equals space 3 space N space
Now, consider two vectors 2 N and 2 N. The angle between these two vectors is 120°

Thus, substituting the value in (*) we get,

R space equals space square root of 4 space plus 4 plus space 2 space cross times space 4 cross times space cos space 120 degree end root space
R space equals space space square root of 4 space plus 4 space plus space 2 space cross times space 4 cross times space fraction numerator negative 1 over denominator 2 end fraction end root space equals space 2 space N space

Thus, the resultant force acting on the particle P is,
= 5 N + 2N + 3 N
= 10 N

Correct option is (1) - 10 N making angle of 60° with X - axis.
