Red and blue paint mixed in the ratio 4:3. Prove that double of red paint should be a dded to make the ratio 4:1

Let the common ratio be x.
 
Red paint = 4x and Blue paint = 3x
 
Double of red paint = 4x + 8x = 12x
 
New ratio is 12x/3x = 4 : 1
