If we know the "SUM" and "PRODUCT" of zeroes of a quadratic polynomial then we can directly write its expression, which is given by :
f (x) = x2 - (sum of roots) x + ( product of roots)
Hence, for the 1st problem,
we can write our expression as:
Using the same concept in 2nd,
we can write
product of roots = -k
therfore, -6 x 3 = -k
or k =18.
